Cheney Ballistics
I never expected the amount of detail to come out of the BDS meme of 'Cheneygate' but it just goes to show how our democracy has the capacity to flush out birdbrains. It came as no surprise that Whittington would speak up and embarrass all of those who saw 'a pattern'. But this amount of detail surprised even me.
Consequently, from the links directly above at: Essential shotgun patterning - by Dr Matt Draisma, it is more than safe to conclude that Vice President Cheney could rightfully expect a shot pattern with about 70% of his shot within a 30 inch diameter, which matches up extremely well with Whittington's injury diagram in pdf.Seventy-percent of the 262 pellets in a typical factory load of 7 1/2 shot would be 183 pellets. The report of approximately 200 pellets having hit Whittington at about 30 yards is wholly consistent with the minimum standards one might expect under the circumstances.
So there were actually people from the Left who believed that Cheney was closer to his friend and shot him out of spite or something and they went to the lengths of doing a Mythbuster scenario on the reported 30 yard distance. Astounding. That's hate.

Here's what really might have happened on the Armstrong Ranch:

I don't think he did it on purpose. That would be crazy. But, I do think he was closer than stated. I have no clue about hunting but I do know that people drink more than Dr. Pepper when they hunt. The "victim" is cool now but, even at 78, when he has to look at those buckshots in his face everyday, he may be cussin' under his breath later.

Cobb:
With folks having "scientific evidence" that Bush blew up the WTC did you really think that we would get out of this story without some type of grand conspiracy?
Please note that when Harry publicly forgave Cheney and said that HE (Harry) felt sorry for all that the Cheney family had to endure - Harry was under the influence of mind altering drugs that had him to say these things.
Behind the scars in his face I could see that he was still angry that Cheney "bust'ed a cap in his azz" in a fit of rage at Harry. ::)
I am more depressed, however, that there is a large contengent of Black people who are once again carrying the Democrat's water and are amplifying the issue. It's funny how on the one hand they talk about how George Bush has increased Black unemployment and decreased Black take home pay but rather than seeing some efforts from them to address these shortfalls locally they choose to play national attack politics.

Hey CF good to see you out here. You're one of the people I'd like to see kick it up a notch over at the Conservative Brotherhood portal. You've got the spirit.

Most of the black people I've spoken to actually giggle at the circumstances. Who's carrying water? Seems to me it's the Cheney apologists.

Was the test carried out using a shotgun with a tight or narrow choke? Or was it carried out by someone who doesn't know a thing about shotguns, and who couldn't be bothered?
And, brotherbrown, all us Chaney Apologists have to do is say "Mary Jo Kopechne". Says everything that's needed to be said.
