Peterson Disqualified

I hereby state unequivocably that Jesse Lee Peterson is a fraud and that his ministry, to the extent I can discern, is illogical and shallow. I do so based upon a letter published today which is the straw that has broken the camel's back - an attack on Fred Price. I say it is a deceptive attempt to slander Price and to tar him with the same brush that Price uses in his fight against institutional racism in Protestantism. Peterson has set himself to do this, but now I think he is in over his head.

Here's to hoping for a showdown. I'm in Price's corner.

Amen brother. Though I wrote him off a long time ago when he was on C-Span as a "counterpoint" to the State of Black America conference. While there were plenty of valid criticisms of the conference, Jesse Lee basically ignored what he had been said and reverted to his standard "black people suck" schtick.

While I agree that the impetus is indeed on us, that stuff gets just as old as blaming everything on the white man.

I truly think that his heart is in the right place, but you know what they say about the road to hell...

Late to the game but still welcome.

First of all, JLP didn't write that. Second he couldn't, so therefore didn't write it. Third he ain't smart enough, so he couldn't and therefore didn't write it.

Although his apparent rebuke for blacks is historical, he's a shill and puppet.

It's really been interesting watching you awaken Cobb.

By the way, I sure love your family values, you always seem so familiar.

I just blitzed through the BOND site and I can tell you that this cat is crazy. Me being in the Midwest must have provided a safe buffer from his type of BS.

We all believe that black America needs to step up to the plate, and our churches do need reform. Dude is asking us to forget that we're black, and that we suck if we remember. Reading the crap that he's pushing, I would have disqualified him long ago.

He gets a ticket on board my black activist/celebrity plane crash, first class. We'll put him next to Farrakhan.

I have written multiple post on this guy. He is ridiculous and for white people to give him any credibility shows that racism IS NOT dead. His number one fan and support Sean Hannity continually puts this dude one when he is inarticulate, foolish, backwards, and is a bigger pimp of black problems than Jesse Jackson.

I am with you on this one Cobb.

Jesse Peterson is a waste of time.

Dell, I've done the same. One piece just provided quotes of his. That's all that is needed to condemn the man.

Sorry to disagree, but Peterson should get more than a brush-off for just one article just as Kwanza should get more than fingers at its founder.

OK, defend these statements made by Peterson:

  • If you want to be saved, don't go to a Black church.
  • Black preachers teach hatred of Israel.
  • Most Blacks are lazy and don't want to work.
  • Most Black preachers, not all but most, are not called by God, they are called by their mommas.
