That's my favrit photoshop filter. Great photo. There's more than what greets the eye.

I used 'Paint Dabs' to defocus everything but my face and right hand. I sharpened the light side of my face and darkened the shadows on the dark side. If you look at my right eye, which I left on the very edge of perceptability, it makes the picture more sinister. If you look at the left side of my face it's more of a world-weary, yet clear-eyed and wise look. At least that's the effect I was trying to get.
I sharpened the line of the couch and redded up the foreground a bit, and I burned the bottom of the frame.
