On Sarin
Sarin is found in Iraq. AHawk says it all.
Lastly, if you're pleased with the use of Sarin against anyone, anywhere, because it helps you score political points, you're a monstrous excuse for a human being, and should kill yourself at the earliest possible convenience. Preferably with Sarin, for that extra bit of irony that the kids are all into these days.

One shell (last I heard). How old? Dating back to the Iran-Iraq war, most probably. Not in and of itself an indication that there are vast stock piles of WMD lying around. Take the real red pill, please! :)

OK, scratch that. It looks like the situation is complicated and unclear, and potentially rather scary.

If you want to really amuse yourself, try tracking down which countries are known to have manufactured 155 mm binary chemical shells at some point in the past.

Marc - They have forensics people to go over this sort of thing. If it were imported, the bomb disposal people would have recognized it because they study these sorts of things. That kind of knowledge keeps a bomb disposal guy alive. But they didn't recognize it. It doesn't look like any standard chemical munition, and so two of our guys get minor exposure to sarin.
It's summer in Iraq. The other side is trying to force us into chemical suits so that we get slowed down/have heat casualties. I'm not happy that they're using their chemical weapons but it would be nice if those who spent all that energy chanting Bush lied, would feel just a smidgen of contrition at wasting all our time.
