I think you have it backwards (or the folks you are talking about do) on ex-patriate workers. They all pay income taxes and if they are permanent residents they also pay SS. But there are probably a lot of govt. services for which they are not eligible (if there even is such a thing as a govt. service anymore in the US).

Equally illegal. Imagine the outcry if Bush offered amnesty to all pot smokers. Then imagine how much worse it would be if he allowed all current pot smokers to obtain a permit allowing them to legally smoke all the pot they wanted for the next three years. Personally, I'd be OK with it, but I don't think too many other people would be.

I think the debate on illegal immigration summed up nicely thusly: it's not wrong, it's just illegal.

There are significant differences. First, most U.S. pot smokers are our own citizens, while illegal aliens are by definition citizens of another country. While citizens of other countries who are in the U.S. have certain rights, we should not ever favor them over our own citizens. We should feel free to deport illegal aliens as long as their rights are respected.

Second, marijuana consumers number in the millions, while there are only a relatively small number of consumers of illegal alien labor. And, those consumers of IA labor aren't hiding in the shadows; some trade on the NYSE.

It's illegal for extremely good reasons. We can't just have open borders. We need to have some controls. That's why we have legal immigration of various kinds.

You either have open borders, or you have legal/illegal immigration.

Unlimited immigration is illegal because it's wrong, in the sense that it is not in the country's best interst. Illegal immigration is wrong because it's illegal. There is a moral component to obeying the law vs. ignoring all laws that don't also violate one's personal code of ethics.

I want to circle back on this vis a vis empire and defending the constitution internationally. I think that if you truly believe that jefferson and his pals were onto something which was more than just white male, that is to say universal and international, then at some point national sovereignty is irrelevant to the principles of the constitution.

If we are so ethic, why do we go to foreign countries and break the law. If we are so ethic, why we do not pay fare salaries here as well as in the foreign countries where we establish our corporations.

I read in the article somewhere and a person heard from a guy on tv who said that Mexicans are white people who speak Spanish. Mexicans aren't white. They're brown hispanics or latinos, even light-skinned ones are too. The light skinned Mexicans probably have white blood either from a parent, grand-parent, great-grandparent or an ancestor. The tv guy probably meant the Spaniards, who are white. So in fact, alot of Mexicans have very little white blood and more native blood even though Mexico has a mixture of Native and Spanish and other.

The standard of living in Mexico is decling, so the Mexican government has encouraged Mexicans to migrate to the US. Vicente Fox bullies the pussy US government into accepting Mexicans into the US.

Fact: Illegal Aliens get their pregnancies paid for 100% when they come into the US. American citizens, on the other hand, have to pay their own medical bills.

Fact: Illegal Aliens with US born children(births were PAID for) are eligible for up to LIFETIME welfare benefis while American citizens are only allowed five years.

Fact: Let's say there are two familes of 4. One family has all US citizens. The other has ONE Illegal Alien that came into the US and got her pregnancies paid for and had 3 citizen children. Both households make the same amount of money. The household with the illegal alien will get MORE food stamps and welfare because of the way the income is calculated.

Fact: When Illegal Aliens get welfare and food stamps, they don't have to participate in the work programs -- American citizens DO.

Fact: Illegal Aliens are eligible for government subsidized HOUSING and utilities.

Fact: Illegal Immigration and detensions has risen ever since Bush has discussed his proposed Amnesty plan.

Fact: Many business in border areas ONLY hire Illegal Aliens and little is done to stop this. The LEGAL Mexican Immigrants with work permits and residency are passed over and sometimes fired to fill the companies with illegals.

Illegals are elegible for free lunches, American paid for education, free busing to school, and WIC programs.

FACT: They don't pay taxes for this, YOU DO!!!
