Where I Stand

Fort Worth, right about now.

Having traveled today, like the good old days, I'm finding it fascinating how much the blogosphere has replaced magazines as a primary source of information.

Blog volume will be down this week as I negotiate a surfiet of options. The job situation has turned from famine to feast. Well almost. So I'm really in a tough bind, having to make a decision within 24 hours among several somewhat vaporous choices.

Quicksilver is brilliant and funny. Enjoying.

Still under 200 pounds.

And where were you wondering?
May be you could tell in more details about it?

I'm wandering the country looking for the kind of work I do best. I'm a data architect in the business intelligence (or BI) area of enterprise software. The technology is getting better, the consulting rates are going down, and not so many projects are happening as two years ago.

On any day there are only about 40 new jobs in my particular niche open in the US. That means I have to interview for jobs wherever they may be. This week, that means Ft. Worth TX.

The interview went very well, by the way. So I've got my fingers crossed.
