Told Ya So
You would think that in these post-Enron days, people would come to understand that just because something is incorporated doesn't make it good. Sloppy management can be incorporated. In fact, the only way to keep sloppy management around long enough to cause major screwups is for it to be supported by a good sized corporation.
Anyway, like I said, the blackout wasn't a technical problem.

The blackout was beautiful, I wish and pray we have more. People don't appreciate things anymore, the tiny things, and it takes blackouts of entire cities, countries, hell even CANADA for crying out loud for people to come out of their homes, get together on the street, see eachother and roast some marshmellows. It's like a giant campfire - well, fire certaintly, but camp.
It's sad that it only takes events of such large magnitude like 9.11 (which I was in, survived of course but loss 8 friends...) the blackout, war, etc. for people to 'come out of their little worlds' and appreciate what they already have.
That's been lost.
